Lower Westchester
Take Hutchinson River Parkway South to the Orchard Beach / City Island
Exit. Make a right at stop sign after exit, follow sign for City Island,
pass the horse stable, make a left a light, at traffic circle take second
right to the City Island Bridge. Cross City
Island Bridge to City Island Avenue.
Le Refuge is the sixth building/home on the left, right after the Church.
Make a left into the Cul de Sac driveway.
From New England Thruway/I-95
Take Exit for City Island.
Drive east through park (1/8 mile) and make right at light. Continue
down City Island Road, past the miniature golf/driving range to the circle
and take the second exit at the sign for City Island. Cross City
Island Bridge to City Island Avenue. Follow
as above.
From Connecticut
Takwe interstate 95 South to Exit 14 (Hutchinson River Parkway South).
Take the first exit on the Hutch, Exit 5, for Orchard Beach/City
Island. See above. (If you stay on 95S, then use Exit 8B
or take the Merritt Parkway to the Hutchinson River Parkway South
to Exit 5. Take this exit and follow the signs to City Island.
Follow as above.
From Long Island
Take Whitestone Bridge North to Hutchinson River Parkway North. Continue
as above or Take the Throggs Neck Bridge/I-295 N to Exit 9 N -- Hutchinson
River Parkway. Follow as above.

New Jersey
Take the George Washington Bridge towards Manhattan. Stay on the
Cross Bronx Expressway, which is I-95 North to Exit 8B. After the
drawbridge, make a right at the first light on City
Island Road. Go around traffic circle and over City Island Bridge. Follow
as above.
From the Bronx
Fordham Road east to Pelham Parkway. Drive over Pelham Bay Bridge and make
right turn at traffic light. Merge onto City Island Road. Drive to traffic
circle, take the second exit from circle, cross City Island Bridge. Follow
as above.

JFK Airport
Take Van Wyck Expressway to Whitestone Bridge. After the toll, stay to the
left, and take the Hutchinson River Parkway to Exit 5 (Orchard Beach/City
Island). Follow the signs to City Island. Follow as above.
From
La Guardia Airport
Take Grand Central Parkway East. Exit Whitestone Bridge (on the
right). After toll, stay to the left and take the Hutchinson River
Parkway to Exit 5 (Orchard Beach/City Island). Follow signs, follow
as above.
Public
Transportation
Take the 6 train to Pelham Bay Park, then take the BX29 bus to City
Island. You can also take the D or B train to Fordham Road, then take the
BX12 to Pelham Bay, then take the BX29 to City Island. Get off at
the first stop.
Bike
Directions from Manhattan (30 mins. from No. 6 train)
Ride through beautiful Pelham Bay Park, which surrounds City Island. Exit
subway No. 6 station, head immediately toward the big park trees (and away
from the "L") and cross two roads at the light which is up
the street to the right a bit. After the crossing, head left, pass the
monument and walk bike over Pelham Bay Bridge. At the light, make a right
and get on the bike path -- goes right to the City Island Bridge. Pass miniature golf, at the traffic circle take the second right where the
bike/jogging path continues past the ballfields and over the City Island Bridge.
